This June, Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra embarks on our annual Queensland Tour, sharing the joy of music with regional Queensland communities.
This year Camerata will visit the Gympie, North Burnett, Kingaroy and Southern Downs areas bringing performances to the community, from kindergarten performances to visits to senior citizens, evening performances with our Camerata in Concert program and a special, interactive performance – Meet the Chamber Orchestra!
During the tour, Camerata is delighted to premiere a brand new composition by Camerata’s 2025 Emerging Composer-in-Residence, Abigail Lui. This follows a long tradition of local audiences loving new music commissioned by Camerata, previously based on the Fraser Coast, Emerald, Winton in Western Queensland, and more. This year, Lui’s work is inspired by her recent trip exploring the Southern Downs regions, including Warwick and Allora, conjuring evocative soundscapes in an exciting new work for string orchestra.
Tickets are on sale now – explore details below.
