Brisbane, what a night! Thank you for packing the Concert Hall at QPAC and for sharing in a performance that celebrated both the power of classical tradition and the thrill of musical exploration.
It was our immense pleasure to perform with the incomparable Paul Grabowsky AO. Paul’s sensitivity and inventiveness brought something new to every moment, whether in the chamber setting or at the piano alone with his haunting rendition of I Get Along Without You Very Well.
We journeyed through a bold and diverse program that included Ravel’s Chamber Symphony, arranged by Camerata founding member, Gail Aitken, Eleanor Alberga’s reflective Remember for String Orchestra, and the world premiere of Paul’s newest composition. This premiere was a powerful centrepiece – textured and emotionally rich – and it was an honour to bring it to life for the first time on the QPAC stage. We sincerely thank QPAC’s Art of the Possible residency for making this collaboration possible.
The evening also featured a fun twist with our wild card dancers from the Australasian Dance Collective (ADC), who added a delightful spark to an already vibrant performance. It reminded us of the spontaneity and playfulness that live performance can offer.
As usual, we loved hearing your thoughts, posing for photos, and sharing in the joy that lingered long after the final note.
Thank you again to Paul Grabowsky for your brilliant collaboration, and to our Brisbane audience – your support means the world to us.
