A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Toowoomba audience for joining us at the Armitage Centre for a truly special evening. Your warmth and enthusiasm made this performance one of the highlights of our season.
We were honoured to welcome celebrated pianist, composer, and conductor Paul Grabowsky AO as our guest artist. Paul’s collaboration with Camerata brought spontaneity, depth, and a rare intimacy to the performance, allowing familiar works to take on new life.
The program included Maurice Ravel’s Chamber Symphony, arranged by Camerata founding member, Gail Aitken, offering lush harmonies and dynamic contrasts that lit up the hall. Eleanor Alberga’s powerful Remember for String Orchestra added emotional weight and reflection to the evening.
A standout moment came with the world premiere of a new work by Paul Grabowsky – an evocative piece filled with lyricism and unpredictability, which had the audience captivated throughout. To add a final spark to the program, our wild card dancers from Australasian Dance Collective surprised and delighted.
After the final bow, it was a joy to meet so many of you in the foyer for photos, conversations, and shared reflections. As always, we so enjoy meeting you and talking all things music.
To Paul Grabowsky, thank you for your extraordinary artistry and the generosity you brought to the stage. And to our Toowoomba audience – thank you for your ongoing support. We can’t wait to return.
