Celestial Choral Baroque Shines at The Empire.

On Saturday, 22 November 2025, Camerata joined forces with One Equal Music at The Empire, Toowoomba, for Celestial Choral Baroque – an evening that left audiences spellbound.

This unique collaboration between strings and choir brought music to life in soaring, unforgettable ways. The program opened with Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo’s ethereal The Spheres – a mesmerising introduction that set the tone for the emotional journey ahead.

Audiences were carried through the majestic Orchestral Suite by Bach – and the radiant Gloria by Vivaldi, one of Bach’s own inspirations. Moments of reflection and hope followed in Peteris Vasks’ Dona Nobis Pacem – culminating in the striking Erik Esenvalds’ Stars, where voices intertwined with shimmering glass harmonics for a truly celestial effect.

It was an evening where every note resonated as a plea for peace – a celebration of harmony – and a testament to music’s transcendent power.
