We had so much fun on our regional tour last month, and one of the highlights was definitely performing this pop-up concert in Barcaldine, Queensland at the Tree of Knowledge.
The tree is memorialised in this spectacular, inspired sculpture by m3architecture and Brian Hooper, and is the place where in 1891 the local shearing workers went on strike against a move to reduce pay rates and the bringing of non unionised labour from interstate, which led to the manifesto for the ALP in Queensland.
Thank you to the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation for making this tour possible, as well as to the Barcaldine Regional Council for presenting us.
