Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra releases Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings, available across all digital outlets! Tchaikovsky’s famous Serenade is heart-rending and yet leaves us feeling uplifted, moved, and joyous.
Camerata interprets his deeply emotional work with their trademark joy and passion, playing with vibrant intensity and sensitivity, the group’s tight and seamless artistic unity bringing this romantic music to life.

“I’m reminded of a seminal moment in the group’s history, playing this work live-to-air on ABC Radio which for what was a very young group of players was incredibly exciting, rewarding and challenging.
“It also conjures up strong and emotional feelings from one of our theatre-music works, The Bright Stars Shone For Us, as we used the slow movement of the Serenade to bring Tchaikovsky to life.
“It’s fitting that Camerata has a recording of this work out there, one of the early building blocks of its extensive repertoire.”
This release comes off the back of the ensemble’s acclaimed 2023 album, Sunshine Sounds with ABC Classic, full of music commissioned by Camerata, inspired by Queensland.
