Camerata is delighted to be the recipient of the Queensland State Luminary Award at the APRA Art Music Awards last night!
Each year, the Art Music Awards, co-presented by APRA AMCOS and the Australian Music Centre (AMC), celebrate outstanding artists and works in Australian art music and sound art.
Last night, Camerata was presented with the State Luminary Award, which recognises individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the music community in their local state or territory. Camerata was recognised for our significant and longstanding championing of Australian Music, particularly though commissioning new music, across our regional touring and mainstage performances.
Camerata was also a finalist for Excellence in a Regional Area for our regional touring program where Camerata engages with schools, aged care, kindergartens and more in a regional Queensland area. Big congratulations to Tura New Music for The Journey Down as the winners in this category!
Thank you to APRA AMCOS and the Australian Music Centre for this recognition and congratulations to all award finalists and winners – an incredible evening recognising trailblazers across Australia.
