Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra has been Company-in-Residence at QPAC since 2014, presenting our mainstage orchestral series at the Concert Hall ever since.
Camerata is sincerely grateful to QPAC’s advocacy and which as supported Camerata’s growth and ascendency at a key time in our history.
EMPIRE THEATRE, TOOWOOMBA
In 2018 Camerata celebrated a decade of touring performances direct from Brisbane stages to the Empire Theatres, Toowoomba. To mark the occasion, Camerata become Ensemble-in-Residence at the Empire in 2018, enabling mainstage concerts to be presented in Toowoomba and a suite of education and other performances to take place.
PREVIOUS RESIDENCIES
MUSEUM OF BRISBANE
Camerata was Artist-in-Residence at the Museum of Brisbane in an innovative partnership where Camerata’s players inhabit the gallery, responding through music to the exhibition City in the Sun (2021). The residency culminated in a performance on Friday, 20 August 2021 and free pop-up performances on Saturday, 28 August 2021 where museum visitors had the opportunity to hear the ensemble perform the outcomes of their inspiration among the art that inspired them.
MUSEUM OF BRISBANE
In 2018 Camerata was Artists-in-Residence at the Museum of Brisbane in an partnership where Camerata’s players inhabited the gallery, responding through music to a world premiere exhibition Life In Irons. The residency culminated in a performance where museum visitors had the opportunity to hear the ensemble perform the outcomes of their research amongst the objects that inspired them.
HOTA, HOME OF THE ARTS, GOLD COAST
In 2018, 52 Strings marked Camerata’s debut as Ensemble-in-Residence at HOTA, Home of the Arts, Gold Coast. Supported by HOTA, Home of the Arts, Camerata inspired audiences across the Gold Coast region through education activity, community engagement, and live performances.
