On Friday evening, Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, The Australian Voices and ARIA-nominated artist Rafael Karlen performed the World Premiere work, Sinking Cities.

After numerous COVID-19 challenges, it was a joy to finally bring this work to our live stream audience via the Australian Digital Concert Hall.

Daniel Kaan for classikON wrote, “…erasure of histroy inspires this new work, ‘Sinking Cities’, by [Rafael] Karlen/[Pearly] Black. It asks what price are we prepared to pay for relatively short term progress…The piece as a whole has a feeling of glacially slow inevitable, irreversible change for the worse.”
