Camerata is honoured to have in our Board experienced and motivated professionals, who guide our organisation. We are grateful for their multi-year commitment which contributes significantly to Camerata’s development.
Inevitably though, the time comes for renewal.
We are delighted to introduce our new Chair, Pamela Greet, and Deputy Chair, Jenny Hodgson. Both are well known to Camerata and have been board members for a number of years now, with Pamela chairing the Development Sub-Committee, and Jenny as Co-Chair Art and Audience Sub-committee.
This week, we farewell and sincerely thank outgoing Chair, Brian Bartley, and Deputy Chair, Libby Anstis, after their many years of inspiring and strategic leadership of Camerata.
Brian’s tenure from 2013 to 2022 spans a period of significant growth, as well as the challenging times seen and felt across arts entities during the pandemic. Brian’s leadership and consolidation of Camerata’s management and governance structure has strengthened us for continued growth. Through the departure of Camerata’s former Executive Director in 2021, and the recruitment of Michael Sterzinger, Brian’s guidance has been crucial. His leadership of the ongoing search for a permanent rehearsal studio and home for our orchestra has been tireless. We thank Brian for his persistence in guiding Camerata towards our goals.
Libby’s strategic advice has been invaluable to managing a small to medium arts company. She’s supported the building of a coherent values-driven team including recruitment and Executive Director transition in 2021. Libby’s industry knowledge and contacts have helped Camerata make strategic connections, solidifying our position as a well-regarded medium-sized arts company and one of Australia’s busiest ensembles. Board transition and coherence, and building appropriate governance and risk management for Camerata lead by Libby have consolidated our successes and operational efficiency.
We thank Brian and Libby for their tireless efforts on behalf of Camerata.
“With the excellent foundations built by the team of Brian and Libby, Jenny and I are delighted to be handed the baton, continuing to grow for Queensland audiences and beyond, Camerata’s unique musical gift. These are very exciting times for our musicians and our whole Camerata team.”
