One Equal Music (OEM)

One Equal Music (OEM) is a distinguished choral ensemble based in Brisbane, celebrated for its diverse and captivating repertoire. From the earliest chants of humanity to contemporary works commissioned from living composers, OEM’s performances offer a rich musical journey that blends tradition with innovation.

The ensemble’s singers are drawn from the top Cathedral and Parish choirs across Queensland, carefully selected for their exceptional musicianship and finely trained voices. Together, they create a unique sound that bridges history and modern expression.

The name One Equal Music is inspired by the poem Bring Us, O Lord God by John Donne, beautifully set to music by William Henry Harris. This name reflects the ensemble’s commitment to equality and unity, both in the music they perform and in fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment for all involved.

Founded in 2022, OEM is Co-Directed by the husband-and-wife duo, Tomasz Holownia and Eleanor Adeney. Both highly regarded professional choral singers with extensive experience in Australia and the UK, Tomasz and Eleanor bring their wealth of knowledge and passion to the ensemble, ensuring every performance is a unique and unforgettable experience.
