For the first time, Camerata will be bringing the entire 20-piece orchestra to Rockhampton thanks to Beef Australia (5 to 11 May).
As part of Beef Australia’s prestigious cultural program, Camerata will perform the captivating Four Seasons Reimagined, a visionary reimagining of Vivaldi’s masterpiece, on the Ergon Network Stage.
The Four Seasons has captivated audiences and music-makers the world over, and Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra is no exception.
In this performance in Rockhampton, Camerata reimagines The Four Seasons, intertwining Vivaldi, Max Richter (from his hit post-minimalist album, Recomposed by Max Richter), Astor Piazzolla (with a Buenos Aires tango version of “Spring”), as well as a north American season written by American fiddler, Mark O’Connor. To evoke the intensity of Winter will be the sublime piece, “Tibetan Winter”, by Roxanna Panufnik.
Camerata will also be joined by special guest, esteemed Australian Guitar, Mandolin and Banjo virtuoso Joel Woods for Mark O’Connor spritely “Summer”.
Four Seasons Reimagined will uplift, delight, and celebrate the talent of Camerata’s Artistic Associates in solo roles.
